Rules for Social Media Accounts
Rules for Social Media Accounts
In addition to these principles, we have also set the following particular guidelines for employee privacy on social media:
1. Personal accounts are personal: Employees are free to use social media for personal purposes, but it must be made clear that their views and opinions do not represent that of the company.
2. Be mindful of words used: While posting on social media sites, employees should use caution, common sense, and good judgment. Language that is defamatory, oppressive, or harassing is not permitted.
3. Avoid disclosure of confidential information: The Company does not support the dissemination of private or confidential data on social media. This contains information about products, trade secrets, financial information, client details, or other sensitive material.
4. Respect colleagues: Coworkers should be respected, and employees should avoid making unpleasant or improper remarks or using offensive imagery or behaviors.
Example: Employees cannot speak about certain topics online, such as trade secrets, corporate strategies, confidential financial information, or news on upcoming products or events that haven’t been announced yet.
